Food and other non-food items on my way to my first IEEE academic conference
Plane food from San Francisco to Istanbul (because there wasn't a direct flight to Vienna): Muhammara.
Actually very good, especially with a carb like bread or popcorn (In-flight cravings need creative solutions)

Samosa on the same SFO to IST flight. Average samosa, but it'll work with long-haul flight cravings. I also remember trying to do buttered popcorn with hard airplane butter. I ablated it against Muhammara and still prefer the Muhammara.
*Disclaimer: I normally work with AI on rented GPUs and am not a food photographer.

In Istanbul: Pickled vegetables from a Japanese place. OK if anything, nothing special.
(Not pictured: California roll from the same restaurant that I, as a Californian, was *just disappointed* by)

Jet-lagged and awake in time for Fajr Adhan

NOT food: cute stray cat I came across in Istanbul. Saw many more but you shouldn't pet them apparently

Turkish coffee and Turkish delight that did not make me ponder whether I should betray my family

Airport Schnitzel. Actually pretty good, but I had serious Schnitzel cravings so it was a biased sample.
